In today's economy, many families are struggling to make ends meet. One way to maximize your food budget is to use Angel Food Ministries. This is not a handout or welfare system. It is an organization that buys food in bulk and then distributes the food for a cost that reflects their buying power. I've used them and the food is good quality for low prices.
The website lists local distributions sites, as well as menus and prices.
Here's a link to January's menu. This will give you an idea of what you pay and what you get.
Angel Food Ministries does take Food Stamps. Check with your local distributor for other methods of payment as those are determined by each individual location.
